The Anti-Christ fulfills the work of Christ

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

(Read these basic posts: Thelema is post-Christianity, not anti-Christianity | Jesus is not the Savior, You are!God in Thelema is not the morbid Christian God )

The title of this post is ‘the Anti-Christ fulfills the work of Christ.’ In “An Open Letter to Rabbi Joel Blau” (available in Revival of Magick), To Mega Therion 666 informs us how Thelema supersedes Christianity. Keep in mind that the political state we know as ‘Israel’ did not exist back then and would not come into existence for at least a couple decades. Israel is understood as the Kingdom of Heaven, the spiritual Temple & Home of Zion (Let Thelemites remember that Zion = 156). Again, Israel refers to establishment of the City of God, not the political state of Israel that was established in the 1940s:

Your salvation lies in spiritual self-realization.

…Our Law contains these words: ‘Every man and every woman is a star…’ The economy of space demands that each star should satisfy its own conditions, move in its proper orbit. No artificial arrangement will secure harmony. It is not for an astronomer to propose a plan by which one group of stars may be kept from colliding with others… Each star is equally inviolable, eternal, individual…

When Moses gave His new Law, His was the Word which expressed the spiritual truth fit for that age and that folk. Other Masters have appeared from time to time with other words… In the same way, the Word of our Law which I now proclaim, formulates an ethical principle by the acceptance of which every man and every woman, of whatever race, may become sole arbiter of his or her own destiny, and achieve the automatically demonstrated certainty that every Star is supreme in its own sphere, all collision and confusion being due to that very mistake of moral misalliance which you indicate as the root of most of the monstrous growths in the Lord’s vineyard…

Jew and Gentile have been forced into contact under innumerable varieties of social condition. Friction has been at a minimum when the Jew has been in contact either with Arabic civilization or English jurisprudence. These two environments have a common factor: non-interference. English indifference and Moslem self-respect are agreed on the ethical principle:  ‘Mind your own business.’ This is one of the moral postulates of our own Law.

‘Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.’ The solution of the Jewish problem is simply this: ‘Shiloh shall come’ [Gen 49:10]. The Messiah must arise, and His name shall be called Anti-Christ, even as I who am already arisen, am called The Beast and my number is the number of a man, six hundred and three score and six [Rev. 13:18]. And this shall be the sign of the Messiah, Anti-Christ, He who shall lead at least His people Israel into the Holy Mountain, the True Zion…

One word in reconciliation of an apparent antinomy. Do not think of Anti-Christ as opposed to Christ, any more than you think of the pleura as opposed to the lungs which it bounds. Woman is not the opposite of man – the difference between them is necessary to their cooperation. Without it, neither could reproduce their common elements in either component… The arising of Anti-Christ will make possible the coming of Christ…

Fear not then that Anti-Christ, in establishing Israel, will injure Christianity, He will, on the contrary, assist the Christian spirit to cleanse itself from the confused acquiescence in anarchical amiability which it calls ‘charity,’ and is really cowardice, really the slave’s shame of his own condition, the sense of guilt which he soothes by minimizing all misdemeanours, ‘Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.’ Let Anti-Christ arise, let Him announce to Israel its integrity… Then let Him speak the Word of the Will of his People, so that All Israel with unite energy, disciplined and directed, move as one man irresistibly to fulfil Destiny…

The Sun of Righteousness has risen, and he hath healing in his wings [Malachi 4:2]. Hear thou the Word of the Lord! ‘Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.’ For in this Word shalt thou be sealed, and thou shalt save the people from their sin, for ‘The word of Sin is Restriction,’ and the sin of Israel is this: that it has never known itself, or done its Will.”

Love is the law, love under will.

Thelema has Certainty of Experience, not Superstitious Faith & Belief

“I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice.”
The Book of the Law

We must have faith! This is what innumerable Christians say & parrot all day long. We must believe! We must have faith! Faith that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. This is nothing but a surrender of our God-given faculties of experimentation & reasoning to blind adherence!

This blind faith has lead to the indiscriminate slaughter of people who simply do not espouse belief in the same God, or simply use a different name for God! The Book of the Law acknowledges “Every man and every woman is a star” in the company of Heaven. This Heaven is not some place attained after we die but is here & now, even as Jesus tried to explain: “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21)

This blind faith has lead to restriction of the freedom of others – such as the prevention of equal rights for homosexual couples – innumerable times. The Law of Thelema enjoins us to “not repress or restrict any true instinct of your Nature; but devote all in perfection to the sole service of your one True Will.” (Duty)

This blind faith has lead to the infinite suffering of uncountable souls, who worry endlessly about their fate in some “here-after” instead of enjoying their life here & now on Earth.

This blind faith has lead people to commit atrocious acts and childishly negate their responsibility for them, saying “God told me to do it.” But if there is no god but man, you are still responsible!

In Thelema we abide by the certainty of our own experience, not blind faith. We only speak of God when we know God (and become God!). We might as well kiss Hank’s ass if we are working from faith!

“It all depends on your own acceptance of this new law [Do what thou wilt], and you are not asked to believe anything, to accept a string of foolish fables beneath the intellectual level of a Bushman and the moral level of a drug-fiend. All you have to do is to be yourself, to do your will, and to rejoice.” (Law of Liberty)

If we have faith, it is faith in ourselves. It is a faith in our Will to meet each moment with skillful and strong Love. This is a faith of action which is alive & dynamic instead of a faith of belief which is dead & stagnant. Not worrying if every action is sinful and guilt-ridden, we experience the pure joy of existence in each moment, having discarded the phantoms of fear and abiding in the strength & simplicity of the Law of Liberty, Do what thou wilt.
